Rovia has been appointed by Qualitas Energy to provide transport planning advice in support of proposals for a new 60MW solar farm on land near South Mimms, Hertfordshire. The planning application site covers approximately 122 hectares and includes solar arrays and associated infrastructure.
Rovia is preparing the transport documentation required to support the forthcoming planning application, which involves assessing anticipated construction traffic, considering potential impacts on the local highway network and public rights of way, and identifying appropriate mitigation measures where necessary.
Particular attention has been given to the development of a robust construction access and routing strategy, reflecting the site's rural setting and the need to minimise disruption to local communities. Our role has also included the preparation of vehicle tracking assessments and access design drawings to demonstrate that construction traffic can safely access and operate within the site.
Rovia continues to work closely with Qualitas Energy, the local highway authority and the wider consultant team to progress the transport strategy and support submission of the planning application, which is expected to be submitted in 2026.
